Graduation BBQ

On Saturday the 19th July 2014, children and families from Jubilee Day Nursery and Jubilee Gems had their annual BBQ and Graduation Ceremony held for all the children who are leaving after the summer to go to Primary School.

The day was full of fun, laughter, joy, happiness and even a few tears when all the preschool children lined up in their caps and gowns to receive their leaving scroll and leavers T-shirt.

Nursery Graduation BBQ Everyone had a wonderful day with face painting and glitter tattoos, coconut shy, giant sand pit, bouncy castle and even a pirate ship with dressing up. The sweet shop and tombola helped raise money for cancer research.

The entrance fee along with the money raised from the stalls totalled £910 to which Vodafone graciously added £350. This made our total amount for the day a staggering £1260 and will presented to our chosen charity Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.

After a truly delicious BBQ, everyone relaxed in the sunshine with their ice creams whilst enjoying their beautiful surroundings along with the animals.

Panto comes to Jubilee

In true spirit of the season, we welcomed Pyramid Panto to perform an interactive show "Once Upon A Story Time" which was tailored to our nursery.  With lots of laughter and excitement, over 90 children joined in as they watched the performance.

Lesley Thompson, Nursery Manager, said "This is the first time Pyramid Panto have come to the nursery and it was so wonderful that the children enjoyed the show so much. It was a great start to the festive season."

Graduation Day

Graduation Group

Children starting big school this September took part in their very own Graduation ceremony at nursery. Each child was dressed in cap and gown which were all hand-sewn by our talented staff.

Over 60 children received a certificate, framed photograph, a ‘goodbye’ poem and some toys as they shook hands with staff in front of proud parents, grandparents and siblings.

Lesley Thompson, our nursery manager said “Most of the children who graduated have been in our care since they were just a few months old and over the years, they have had so many wonderful adventures with us. We will miss them all terribly, although we will see many of them in the holidays at Jubilee Jets Holiday club! They have been great company to be with and we wish them lots of happiness in the future.”

The school-age children have been working with our Early-Years professional who has brought an immense amount of fun to teaching phonics, hand-writing and numeracy in preparation for starting school. Over 200 children remain in the nursery with 65 children moving into the shoes of those leaving. They will become the ‘grown-ups’ at Jubilee Day Nursery and start to enjoy our Forest School outdoor learning programme in our private woodland and working with our gardener, as well as developing confidence, movement and language skills through play.

Going on a bear hunt

We're going on a bear hunt, we're going to catch a big one, what a beautiful day.... we're not scared!

Uh-oh Grass....

Acting out the story of The Bear Hunt, using real-life experiences caused much amusement amongst the children.

As they made their way through our private woodland, they splashed through the "Deep Cold River" and squelched in the "Thich Oozy Mud".

The children really benefit from exploring in our woodland which we visit regularly for many activities, including den building, climbing, scavenger and bug hunts. Many of our family events take place in the woods.  These include our family picnic and magical winter wonderland walk.  Fresh air and outdoor learning and very much part of the Jubilee lifestyle and the children thrive on it.

Sunshine at last!

What better way to enjoy the lovely weather, than with some water play?  The children have thoroughly enjoyed water channelling, filling various objects with the hose, pouring and squirting!

Creative Play

Nothing reinforces the creative spirit and nourishes a child's soul more than providing time to engage in spontaneous, self-directed play. Play is the serious business of young children and to do so freely is vital to healthy development.
